This is an unplanned blog but I had to share because we had our first of 3 Christmases recently and our son is LOVING the new toys he got (and we’re loving them too!). Shopping for the younger kiddos is though because they can’t voice their opinion yet and you’re never really sure what toys, books, activities they’re going to take too. You basically have to go on the word of others with experience and learn your child’s preferences as you go. I’ll start with the new toys our nearly 1-year-old is loving. They’re items that he can easily grow with and will be well loved for years to come! I stopped at a Target the other day and it was chaos. If I hadn’t done order pick-up I would have easily been there 45 minutes longer and who knows if the item I ran in for would have still been available. Ugh. I’m officially done shopping in-stores until after the holidays!

SO excited about this fun outdoor toy! For some reason, I didn’t even realize a toddler sled with back existed for little ones. Of course, our snow is melting a bit right now (more coming tomorrow!) but we’ve pulled him around the house in it and he thinks it’s a riot. I can’t wait to get him bundled up and pull him around the neighborhood!

Talking Stuffed Toys
There are a couple options to choose from, our son LOVE his Scout (or Violet) which we received a couple months ago. He also loves the Elephant version with it’s big silly nose. These are great educational options. Scout even learns your child’s name, favorite food, color, and animal and incorporates them into the songs, learning, and fun! It’s a favorite toy for 9-month-olds and up!

Vtech Drop and Go Dump Truck
The Vtech Drop and Go Dump Truck is a super fun, multi-function toy. Our little guy loves the balls and quickly learned how to put the balls in the hole in the truck and push them to get it to talk. It’s so fun teaching him how to use toys and watching him learn. This one also doubles as a pull toy that bounces as it rolls. It sings, talks, and lights up. Another favorite for our almost 1-year-old.
Teepee Tent
Our son LOVE forts, crawling under his exersaucer, and flipping over his playmat into a make-shift tent. We knew a cute teepee tent would be a big hit with him. This allows for endless fun and imagination and he can certainly grow with it! Add a cute fuzzy, animal sleeping bag or a DIY cushion (blog coming soon!) for extra fun!

OMG. These sit and spin saucers with wheels were the BEST in grade school!! Is it weird I want one for myself??
Sand and Water Table
Love a sand and water table for indoor or outdoor. The intended purpose is sand and water and probably outside, but bring it in for winter and use corn kernels (you’ll want to rise them first) and create your very own corn station like you find at most apple orchards in the fall. It turns it into a year-round toy and definitely worth the investment!
