I think I might me a mommy genius. We have a 3.5-month-old happy baby boy and Easter was our first big weekend full of family events. I knew everyone would want to hold the baby but I decided it was probably wise to bring our Fischer Price deluxe rock ‘n’ play because it would be a good place to lay him while we ate. I was a little concerned he would get bored and fussy just laying in the rock ‘n’ play so I was trying to think of a way to add toys to the mix. Our baby LOVES his playmat and the bears hanging from his swing. I knew I had to do a DIY baby toy arch for rock ‘n’ play. (Mini rant alert: why is it that rock ‘n’ plays don’t include something similar? I mean they have PLAY in the name and there is nothing play about it. So silly. Okay, end rant.) Well, thus began my first genius mom hack.
Genius Mom Hacks: DIY Baby Toy Arch for Rock ‘n’ Play
I was roaming my house trying to think of an easy solution when my genius mom hack came to me. THE PACK ‘N’ PLAY ARCH! Since we only use the pack ‘n’ play for sleeping right now, the toy arch is stored away and wasn’t an obvious answer right away. I dug it out hoping the pressure clips on the ends would be the right size for the rock ‘n’ play sides. I kid you not, perfect fit! I added a few extra toys and extended them to grabbing length with these super handy teething chain links I got from a friend (thanks, Misty!) He was thrilled with my new genius mom hack. Loved relaxing in the rock ‘n’ play during dinner and had a ball playing with his hanging toys. Seriously, my first of what I can only assume will be many (::wink::), genius parenting hacks!

What you’ll need to make your own DIY baby toy arch for pack ‘n’ play
A Rock ‘n’ Play – We have the Fischer Price Deluxe Rock ‘n’ Play Sleeper
The toy arch from a pack ‘n’ play – we have the Graco Pack ‘n Play with Reversible Napper and Changer Playard
Additional hanging toys with clips
Chain links to extend toys
Simply snap the pack ‘n’ play activity arch onto the sides of the rock ‘n’ play then hook on the additional toys. SO EASY and so great.
I’m not sure what other pack ‘n’ play toy arches look like on the ends but I would assume they are similar. If you don’t have a pack ‘n’ play with a flexible activity arch for babies, it turns out you can buy them at Amazon and Target in a few varieties.

Love it! I think the ‘play’ part of the rock n play is the few keys rings you get with it! Lol. Autumn has grown out of the rock n play but if we have baby number two will definitely do this! Never would have thought to do this!!!
You have to try it for #2! It was a life saver at family holidays when we sat down for dinner!
